Three fun facts about
psilocybin mushrooms
- Psilocybin increases “openness,” a personality trait linked to curiosity, creativity, and appreciation for new experiences.
- Psilocybin helps people break free from repetitive, negative thought patterns by altering their
self-perception.
- The Tassili mushroom figures were ancient cave art discovered in Algeria, dated 7,000–9,000 years old, and depict imagery resembling psilocybin mushrooms and their ritualistic use.
In the last 6 years, I've been introduced to sacred plant medicines like cacao, kanna, and
psilocybin mushrooms and have returned to using cannabis flower (THCa here in NC) in a way that is more spiritual and embodied than recreational. Each of these plants carry a unique and sacred somatic medicine and may open previously locked doors of perception when approached with respect, reverence, and humility.
Knock, Knock
I believe these sacred plants are here for the evolution of our consciousness. They've guided me, and others we've
mentored, to profoundly meaningful, somatically rich experiences I could not have touched without their help. It seems as though a mysterious door opens for me when I ask with my heart rather than my head.
As Within, So Without
I've felt more myself than ever before. When I feel at home in myself, love and connection have a solid ground to grow from. Because every connection I experience outside of myself is shaped by the relationship I have
inside.
I find it easier to stay present, while feeling connected to my body and heart. I don't have to disconnect from my body even in the most challenging moments (too many to tally lately). When I can stay in my body, I am empowered.
Are you feeling present in your body and heart these days?
These medicines are not for everyone. For those who "feel the call" to engage with them, along with proper preparation and integration,
for purposes of healing, expansion, creativity, or releasing limiting patterns of perceiving or functioning, they can be both safe and effective.
