You are the medicine You can heal with self-love, nature and intuition
María Sabina was a Mazatec sabia (“one who knows”) or curandera (medicine woman), who lived in Huautla de Jiménez, a town in the Sierra Mazateca area of the
Mexican state of Oaxaca in southern Mexico. She did not know how to read or write. Her verses were either spoken or sung. She expressed herself through the voice of “the sacred mushroom”, in a language that
could be neither taught nor acquired. Her healing sacred mushroom ceremonies were based on the use of psilocybin mushrooms. They are known for introducing the western world to entheogenic
mushrooms. María Sabina is regarded as one of Mexico’s greatest poets. She did not take credit for her poetry; the mushrooms spoke through her: Cure
yourself with the light of the sun and the rays of the moon. With the sound of the river and the waterfall. With the swaying of the sea and the fluttering of birds. Heal
yourself with mint, with neem and eucalyptus. Sweeten
yourself with lavender, rosemary, and chamomile. Hug
yourself with the cocoa bean and a touch of cinnamon. Put
love in tea instead of sugar, and take it looking at the stars. Heal
yourself with the kisses that the wind gives you and the hugs of the rain. Get
strong with bare feet on the ground and with everything that is born from it. Get
smarter every day by listening to your intuition, looking at the world with the eye of your forehead. Jump,
dance, sing, so that you live happier. Heal
yourself, with beautiful love, and always remember: you are the medicine.
Here is what a client said about his psilocybin preparation, journey and integration experience with us in October,
2022. "I don't know how psilocybin knows exactly what to do, but it worked perfectly for me under your tutelage. Thank you sooo much for reassuring me that everything
would be ok, when the medicine started ramping up really fast, I did get scared at the beginning of my journey, but I remember you said my journey was ramping up, then it will peak, then settle back down. That is exactly what happened. My journey took me to what felt like another (mystical) place and time. In the beginning, I saw something out in front of me, pastel colors out in the distance, like another planet that I was approaching maybe.I wasn't frightened, but I was kind of
excited and curious to see what was up ahead. This part of my journey is hard to describe. I knew something was out there, but I couldn't make out any details. The next thing I remember is being in pitch darkness. This is where I saw the face of alcohol. It didn't have a human type flesh and bone face. It was a smallish type, metallic face. It didn't have a human body either, it was like a serpent of molten metal that came from somewhere, and that metal-like face
was right next to me to my left side. I turned my head to look at it, and I saw evilness. It knew I was there to end our friendship. I use the word friendship, because alcohol and myself had hung around each other for many decades. I'm not sure if friendship is the right word or not, but it was trying to stay my friend when I was telling it I see you are bad for me, and that you aren't my friend. I remember yelling at it to get the F out of my body. This creature, or whatever it was, was
really trying to make me change my mind. It did not use words to speak to me, but somehow I knew its thoughts and intentions. However, I did use words when I spoke to it. This back and forth conversation lasted a while, but then, all of a sudden, I felt something leave my body! It felt so very real to me. I remember waking up from my journey and jumping up off your couch, saying, it's gone, it left my body. I felt it leave, and I knew in that moment, something huge had just
happened. I really hope to see you and Eddie again. You changed my life and made our family whole again. I continue to integrate the message and cannot find any trace of desire
for alcohol. Amazing, Thank you, I am so grateful."
Integrative Breathwork Did you know that breathwork can help you process your deeply rooted emotions through your body? By breathing in a particular way, you can open the door to experience a
wider range of emotions without judgment or suppression. We now understand that trauma memories are stored in the body and top-down psychological approaches such as talk therapy may not be enough. Bottom-up approaches such as breathwork and yoga are essential if we are to address the complexities of trauma that get lodged in our physical being. Loosen up Many participants say they feel lighter and loosened from chronic tension after a breathwork session. Breathwork encourages somatic releases by - Stimulating the sympathetic nervous system (nudging you out of immobility, numbness)
- Activating awareness of a wide range of emotions & sensations
- Mobilizing through movement and making sounds
- Discharging the activation (completing an action)
- Promoting equilibrium, embodiment and social engagement
Integrative Breathwork is both activating and integrating. It activates the sympathetic nervous system (gives you
energy and alertness) and integrates the experience into the parasympathetic nervous system (calms and soothes you) through catharsis, allowing you to feel your feelings without judgment. It all takes place in the body, using the capacities you already have (breathing, moving and vocalizing). Our next online Integrative Breathwork session is on Saturday, April 8, 2023 from 3 to 5 pm Eastern Time.
