I'm going to share a short video to ground you with 5 simple yoga postures.

Feeling a sense of grounding is so important because:
- It orients us to our body and the present
- Provides access to our full intelligence (not just cognitive)
- Promotes a sense of safety, stability and security
- Allows us to notice what we truly feel (physically and emotionally)
- Attunes us to what we need
I didn’t always know how to ground or why I would want to. I did not pay much attention to how I truly felt or what I needed. I thought "I should feel this way" and attempted to conjure up that feeling. I was not authentic because I was not grounded. It was difficult for me to know what I needed for my well-being without knowing how I truly felt. Grounding quickly helped me notice how I truly felt which allowed me to make good decisions about what I needed in my life.Â

My life transformed when I practiced simple grounding techniques consistently. I began to notice sensations and emotions and describe how I was feeling. My relationships changed because I was getting real and expressing my thoughts, opinions and preferences. I was able to take effective action and get what I needed. Now, I have more self-compassion and confidence in my body. I no longer feel depleted and depressed. I can share what has helped me with others and that truly
lights me up.Â
